Longevity: ♀ ~ 14 years, ♂ ~ 3 years

This species ownes its common name to the horn that grows backwards. In addition to Ceratogyrus marshalli, on which the horn grows straight up, they are among the best-known representatives of the genus. They are incredibly fast and can turn moving to a new enclosure into an adventure. According to reports, it can also be very defensive. They are aggressive eaters who spend a lot of time underground.
