Costa Rican orangemouth (arboreal)

Habitat: Costa Rica (NW, no urticating hairs)

Body length: 5 cm

Longevity: ♀ ~ 15 years, ♂ ~ 4 years

The relatively small representatives of Psalmopoeus are rather shy to build their networks mostly in lower regions. Usually earth, leaves and other materials are also used for weaving. In Costa Rica it can be found in sparse tropical forests. A beautiful golden carapace is striking.
